Getting a new puppy is one of the most exciting things that someone can do in their life. After finally picking the right one, it's time to take the new puppy home with you, so that it can get used to its new surroundings. The excitement is overwhelming, but you probably aren't quite ready for what this tiny new member of your family has in store for you.

Your habit of sitting on the couch all day? You better forget it. That time in your life will not return for a while due to all the energy your new friend will have. There is a limited amount of time that the little guy will nap during the day, which is when you'll have to race against time to get all your errands, and other duties done. If you're lucky, you can squeeze a nap in. Once he wakes up, it's time to play once again. Running the length of your backyard will become your new hobby, and you can add a five minute walk until his little legs are tired as well. The amount of energy this little creature has will amaze you, but you're going to have to keep up with him anyway.

Potty training may be the toughest thing of all. When a dog is young, they may not understand what is going on right away, so it is ultimately up to you to get the dog outside in time to go to the bathroom or you'll be scrubbing away at your carpet multiple times, trying to get the stains out. Over time, the puppy will start to understand that they get a treat when they go potty outside, but not when they go inside. You'll most likely cry tears of joy due to the fact that you will no longer be scrubbing the carpet, and that your persistence finally paid off. Dogs are very smart, and love to be praised, which is why they can eventually start to realize what is going on when they are potty trained, as long as you keep at it.

Going into the pet section of every store you enter will also become another habit of yours. Trying to pick out the cutest toys for your new friend will become one of the most enjoyable things. Picking out the right treats, and food will be a challenge. Although your new puppy seems to live at ease, you will be freaking out over the smallest things, just trying to make him happy. You will most likely come home from every shopping trip with much more than you planned, and your bags will consist of more puppy toys than you had agreed to buy earlier. Within the first few days of adding this new puppy to your family, he will already need his own basket just to hold everything you bought him. Your new puppy will love each and everything that you bring home for him, while not yet realizing just how spoiled he is.

Since my family has recently gotten a new puppy, everyone has gotten a little less

sleep. The new addition to our family has more energy than I ever could have imagined. The first few days he was with us, he was extremely mellow, and I thought, there was no way we got this lucky. As a few more days passed, he started getting more comfortable, and boy did his true colors start to show. I have never been more exhausted in my life after watching our new puppy for just one day, but I have also never been more happy. Getting a puppy is a huge responsibility, but it is so rewarding. Although my family has just recently gotten our first dog, his unconditional love has already ceased to amaze me. Take my advice, and if you have the time to get a puppy, do it. Although training is hard, and sometimes not what you want to spend your time on, he will change your life quicker than you thought he could, and make you feel happier than ever.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
