1. Residential Life
Pros: Even as a prospective student to Pace University, the campus tours make Broadway seem like the dream dorm room that will make all your high school friends jealous. 182 Broadway has its own private bathroom for every dorm room. In fact, all dorms (33 Beekman and 55 John Street) have their own private bathroom per dorm except Maria's Tower.
Cons: Although upperclassman and Broadway residents are living in luxury, they aren't the closest to Pace Plaza. Maria's Tower is attached to One Pace Plaza which is especially handy when the cold invades the city. Often times, those who don't live in Maria's fear for their life and see how lazy they really are when they dread and avoid the 5-minute walk to class.
2. Food
Pros: Pace University provides its students with Flex Dollars that are expected at amazing restaurants nearby. From Chipotle, Rosellas, Melt Shop, and more the student's here are well fed with tasty treats. The Cafe also has pasta and chicken fingers that will always please the students. Starbucks is also attached to the cafe and the meal plan which is where a majority of meal plan money ends up.
Cons: Flex dollars go away before you know it. It is rare to make it half a semester let alone a full semester without running out. Fast food is just too tempting. Also, the pasta station is closed on weekends. This is why flex dollars go so quickly, without pasta there is more need to go out for Chipotle or pizza.
3. The Subway
Pros: Fulton center is right near Pace and can take a student literally anywhere in the city. With entrances throughout John and Fulton, getting to the station is fast and convenient. Fulton Center has the 4,5,2,3,A,C, J, and Z trains making it possible to travel all the way uptown or all the way downtown/Brooklyn.
Cons: Although it may not seem like it $2.75 is a lot and will cause quite the burning hole in your wallet. You never really realize until you see how much you're refilling your metro card. It may seem amazing to go anywhere in the city but it can make you go broke.
4. Pace Performing Arts
Pros: Pace Performing Arts has some of the most talented people you will ever meet. Some of our students start working professional gigs before they even graduate. You could be sitting next to future tony or oscar winners in your classes.
Cons: Although these students are very talented, they never stop singing. You'll always know who a PPA major is because they'll be the loudest in the cafe, hallways, and dorms. They may be talented but there is only so much you need to here.
5. Pace Plaza
Pros: The floor plan of Pace is easy to navigate once you know where you're going. The difference between west and east wings let's you know which elevator to use. The elevators are also right near the cafe so you can grab a quick snack before, after, or in between classes.
Cons: For only 6 floors within Pace Plaza, it takes 6 years to use an elevator. You'll often stop on any floor and have the thought to take the stairs next time but end up in the same situation tomorrow. Also, every time you want to eat every other student wants to too. The cafe isn't big enough to hold all the students, so it overflows. However, you've already run out of flex dollars so you're stuck there.
