Yes, There ARE Cons To Having Guy Friends, But They Are All Worth It

Guys, you truly are the best, despite the cons. At least the cons make for good stories one day!

Having a group of guy friends is great, always a good story to tell or hear, and always something fun going on.

But there are definitely pros and cons along with being the only girl in a friend group. There will never be a dull moment hanging around a group of guys!

Pros:

Very little drama

Guys tend not to hold onto grudges or get worked up over petty drama.

They don't ask to borrow your clothes

You will never have to worry about your favorite flannel missing.

They give you insight on the guy code

They teach you the game, so now you become a player

Dating advice

watching their "moves" and then them failing...horribly.

Don't have to worry about impressing

"hair tied, sweat pants, chillin' with no makeup on" - Drake

Listen to you complain

You're a great actor if you really aren't listening then.

Always there for you

If I needed to talk to someone at 3AM they'd pick up their phone. If I needed some backup they'd for sure be down to throw some punches

Cons:

Other people think you're a thing

Can't go anywhere in public without raising suspicions

They secretly fall in love with you

You don't find out until 6 months later, sometimes you lose them as a friend completely.

They get jealous

They don't want you as a girlfriend, but get upset when you start to begin a relationship with another guy.

Parents ask questions

"Mom, we're just friends"

They're always hungry

Always taking my food.

Getting into frats is harder

Rolling up with a group of guys and very little girls is the epitome of no chance of entering the house.

They don't understand pms

Do not ask if we are on our period.

Saturdays are for the boys

Feeling so left out when you aren't invited to their guys only hangout.

They expect you to be a sports fanatic

All I can say is we try.

The way they talk about girls

Once you're in the "guy circle" its a bit sad the way they talk about girls, while your right there. And makes you wonder if anyones said those things about you.

Always asking you to set them up with your friends

I should just set up a match making service

They're dumb

They are either trying to do stuff to get them injured or in trouble, wrestle with each other, or hurting a girl they love. Either one, its difficult to witness.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
