Everyone has their “special person.” Now this person can be anyone, and usually this person is not a best friend but more of a guidance to teach you what is acceptable and unacceptable. You can know this person a lifetime or in my case a couple years. This person needs to not only be a second mom but a big sister you may have never had. They are someone you can go to for anything and know that they will not judge you but show you the path that you need to take. Also, they should love God just as much as you do and show you how amazing he is. Your “special person” should be all of these things, but they should also love you for who you are.
My special person’s name is Kayla, she's my neighbor but she's more of a second mom/big sister. Although I have only known her well for about three years it feels like a lifetime. She is the person that I look up to, she loves God, loves her kids more than anything and has an amazing family. She is older than me, but to me that does not matter because whenever we hang out it is always a good time, whether its jamming to the Coyote Ugly soundtrack or just sitting on the back porch having a deep conversation about something that upset me at school. She listens and gives me the best advice. Kayla also treats me like I am her fourth daughter (sometimes I really think I am). I remember at my graduation her and her husband (super Dave) came, and it meant so much to me because we are not blood but I consider her and her family as part of my family. Kayla is the best person for me, and I am so grateful God put her and her family in my life for a reason. She truly brings out the best in me, and without her who knows where I would be right now.
A special person is not just your mom, because lets face it moms are special already for giving life to such an awesome kid. A special person is someone who will make you laugh till you can not laugh anymore or will listen when you come to them in tears because of how someone treated you. They will be the ones to say, "who do I need to beat up?” To me, my special person is all of those things, She is loving, caring, smart, funny and she will tell you when you messed up but will also tell you how no one is perfect, and she will be the person to help you through the bad times. Kayla and I have had great times together and will continue to have great times in the future. She is not going away any time soon and that's a fact. I love you Kayla thank you for being my “special person.”
