Planned Parenthood needs to be an option for women.

For the longest time, I couldn’t even begin to fathom how anyone could be okay with aborting a baby. I’ll say that I thought it was absolutely one of the worst things you can do. After doing my research and thoroughly understanding “pro-choice,” I have changed my perspective completely on just a few reasons of why planned parenthood need to be available to women.

These reasons include but are not limited to:

Rape If a woman does not want to carry the child of her rapist, she most certainly shouldn’t have to and it shouldn’t even be up for debate I’m not entirely sure why it is to be perfectly honest.

Incest Again, not even sure why this one is up for debate either.

Financial Struggles If a woman knows that she will not be able to afford all the necessities of having a child, and doesn’t want to undergo all the stress money issues cause, she shouldn’t have to.

Health Issues If a woman knows she might not live through child bearing, and doesn’t want to risk her own life for her unborn child, she shouldn’t have to. (I’m sure we can all imagine how heartbreaking it would be to be in a situation like that.)

“Well, you can just put the child up for adoption.” Well, what about the other 100,000+ children in the world who don’t have homes and are waiting to be adopted?

And abortion should be an option for any reason a pregnant woman deems necessary considering it is no one else’s business and her own because what she decides to do with her body has nothing to do with anyone else.

You can all say “Well if you can’t deal with the consequences of getting pregnant, then you shouldn’t have sex.” Get real here, people. Sex is completely natural and there’s no way in hell you can get people to stop doing it. Planned Parenthood needs to be available for the women who need it, or just for the women who feel comfortable knowing they have a choice.

Her body, her choice.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
