Big pharmacy is an issue in America, but we see it every day and don't think of it as an issue. I have worked with children who are prescribed so many medications that it’s like they're their own store! There's nothing to joke about when it comes to this, there is a very real problem with over-prescription.
This can lead eventually to abuse of the drugs. Sometimes in life people can struggle and have trouble dealing with the pressure, so they turn to medication for help. It is not something we should overlook and not take seriously. Some of the doctors just prescribe medications to make a quick buck. When there are a lot of these pills circulating out there, children and others can possibly get their hands on it.
There was this one time when I was younger that I was going through a rough time. I had tried taking prescription drugs to keep everything in line. This was my first time doing that, it occurred later during college as well. At one point, I was abusing them to relax every day.
Eventually, I was able to stop and overcome this before it became a bigger problem. However, there are other people who might not be as lucky as I was. I have seen some friends who were unable to overcome the prescription pills and struggle with pressing on in life. It is not a good thing to become addicted to. Society does not see prescription pills as being a bad thing all the time. And yes, some medication can be helpful to an individual, but there are some that are not natural and cause issues within a person.
There are some side effects I have seen in clients where they are normal throughout the day with maybe a little bit of energy, but then when they take their medication they are different. When they take their medication, they zone out and are not able to comprehend things that I am saying to them.
The sad thing is that I know how they feel. It is not a good feeling for them, some of them relied heavily on their meds to act “normal”. Why should they have to live that life and not be able to function for a part of their day? Well, you can make it through. Don’t let prescription meds ruin your life and define who you are.
Deep within all of us there is a certain power that we can harness. That is the power of will. You can reach deep down and harness that energy and beat this issue. Big pharmacy does not control any single person.
We cannot let them think that either, we should start fighting back for our own health. If we start to work together to get more natural remedies and not rely on big pharmacy as much, we will be able to see a change. I have been there and it is not fun, many others have suffered much worse. For the sake of the ones that we love and care about, let’s take back our health and take back our lives.
