Here I am. My first article written from my college dorm room at midnight because I just need to put into words the love and power of God and what he is so capable of doing. What I am about to say might blow your mind but rather I hope it isn't a surprise, Jesus answers prayers! Like every prayer we say is heard by him and believe me, he'll answer but with a twist. Meaning it will not be how you may expect because he would much rather surprise you with even more than you asked.

You are probably wondering if that is true or maybe you are doubting he answers your prayers at all. To you guys I say, step back, look at your prayer and just wait and see. It might be the most unexpected and out of left field response that you've ever imagined God could give. However, the King of all gives exactly what you need in the way you most definitely need it.

In this case, I just wanna speak to all of you incoming college freshman that are beginning this new chapter in life. It's weird, yes. It seems odd and the time you had at home seems to have vanished. Now more than ever each one of you gets to own your faith. Pray boldly, pray big, and pray truthfully. No prayer is too much. No prayer will shock God. Do not be afraid to look for spiritual buddies at college. Find those other prayer warriors and go after all that God has for you. Prayer is one of your greatest allies in this new season.

I especially am learning so quickly that if I would just open my eyes and my heart to those around me that there is so much I can do with God. The opportunities for everyone to see an impact in daily life through prayer is so sweet. It has been particularly obvious for me at my college because it is a Christian university. But to everyone please be open and real and get to know those around you. Best of all get to know God!

Prayer is so strong and it will open the door upon door for God to have influence. Whether it be through outreach and missions or a worship time and healing session our conversations with Christ transform the moments. Prayer in relationship among friends builds a bond beyond anything we can even comprehend. I can't even say this enough! I do not care what situation, what college, or how you pray! Just pray! Talk to God and ask Him to show you what he has and then look with your heart and your eyes and you'll be wonderfully shocked by all that he'll show you.

It's not just words. It is your heart speaking to the creator of everything in the most personal way possible. He hears you, he sees you and he will gladly show up and exchange everything you thought was good for even greater things. Our hearts desire to be touched by God. All you need to do is ask and he will fill that desire. From that moment on I promise your life will never be the same after he crashes in on you.

Prayer is a weapon that never grows dull! It's time we enter this spiritual battle swinging our prayer swords!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
