Pray For Your Soulmate

Don't pray to get the guy you're crushing on now, pray to get the guy God made for you.

Pray For Your Soulmate

I believe in soulmates. I believe that there is one special person God created for each of us out there. Maybe to some this idea sounds a bit cliché. However, I have chosen to start praying for my soulmate.

Sitting in Wednesday night Bible study this past week, we were discussing love and what the Bible says about love. We talked about how God loves us so much that He had His son die on the cross for us--that He loves us as much as He loves Jesus. Do we really realize how much He does love us? Unfortunately, we tend to just state it as a belief that has been drilled into our brains since we first started Sunday school as little ones. We don't usually ponder how He loves us.

Our teacher then asked us to give testimonies of how God has shown us His love throughout our lives, even recently. She just wanted us to tell her an event that had occurred that we knew without a doubt was God's work. After a few of us had told our testimonies, the lady sitting next to me spoke up.

Her story was bit different than most of ours. Most of us are in our 20s and some in their early 30s, and she's a little older. Many of us our still single or in a fresh relationship--she's been married for a little over 30 years. What she told the class made me reevaluate how I've been dealing with my (almost nonexistent) love life. She told us that when she was 15 she prayed for her soulmate. She would ask God every day to send her the man that he had created especially for her. Two years later, she met him--on a blind date--perhaps the only story about a blind date that I've ever heard to end positively.

She comes from a divorced family, like I do. Of course, she didn't want that to be her future. Like she and I, and most people who marry, we want our relationships to last a lifetime. It can't last without being built on a foundation of God.

In light of all this discovery, I have made an alteration to my daily routine. Not only do I say my regular prayers for the day, but each morning when I arise I pray for God to send my soulmate to me. I also ask Him to help guide me in the right direction and keep my heart open. I have faith that He's going to send my special guy to me. How long will it take for him to show up? I honestly have no idea. I do know that God will give you the desires of your heart in His time. So once again, I have to have patience.

You should pray for your soulmate too. He or she is waiting on that fateful day when the two of you meet. Your soulmate is probably somewhere, right this minute, praying for you as well.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
