Whether you went to Cancun, PCB, Frat Lauderdale or home for spring break, few things are harder than returning to your regular college routine. You want to sleep even longer, stay up even later, and go out every night (if you don't usually do that).
Now it's officially spring and that doesn't really help with the motivation, but we still have to play school. If you're like me and you're struggling to get back into the groove, here are some things to remember.
- It's week 11. You're way past the halfway mark of the semester and finals are just around the corner. Sure, you might be taking summer classes, working, or interning somewhere, but that's nothing compared to a regular OSU course-load. Power through and you'll see the warm sun at the end of the tunnel.
- It's week 11. Summer is so close! Who wants to go into summer bummed about bad grades because they couldn't transition from spring break back to school? I don't. That would put a damper on plans and I don't want any regrets.
- You go to Ohio State. Our school is amazing and we are lucky to be students here. Don't you want to keep up the good reputation of our academics by giving it your all? That's such a simple way to give back to the school and all it cost is your time and hard work. Obviously, you benefit from that too.
- You're surrounded by all of your friends again. Sure, you saw a few here and there but not everyone went to the same place over break. It's time to catch up with friends -- maybe at Thompson or the SEL if you're studious -- to share stories and encourage each other to power through to the end.
I know these reasons might not have you wanting to get off The Odyssey and onto Carmen, but you have to. You don't pay to skip class and assignments. Do it so when you've taken your last exam and it's time to head back to your family, you can proudly say, "I gave it my best effort and I'll be proud no matter how I do."
