Post-College Life, as Told by SpongeBob Squarepants

Even SpongeBob had to adjust to the grad life.

Post-College Life, as Told by SpongeBob Squarepants

Last weekend I decided to sit back, relax and watch SpongeBob Squarepants. While watching, I realized that these characters are realistic. They all represent a part of the grad life. These SpongeBob Squarepants characters will tell you secrets about post college life.

Sandy Cheeks: The High Achieving Scientist

This squirrel is living the life. She has a steady job doing research and has a very nice tree dome. In her spare time, she likes to exercise and casually beat SpongeBob at karate. The only downside is that she had to move for her job and she misses her friends and family from Texas. If I were you, I would hope to end up like her.

Mr. Krabs: The Entrepreneur

That Mr. Krabs is also living the life. He started a successful restaurant and is often seen rolling in piles of dough. The only downside is this taste of success has made him extremely greedy. If you become a successful business owner like Mr. Krabs, make sure to stay grounded.

Mrs. Puff: A Teacher

Mrs. Puff has a steady job as a driving teacher. Unfortunately, she has to deal with difficult students like SpongeBob. Remember, being a teacher is a rewarding job even when students are trying your patience.

Plankton: Failing Business Owner

Some businesses are unfortunately not as successful as the Krusty Krab. Do not give up if you have a business that is failing. Also, do not try to screw over other businesses in the process.

Squidward: The Struggling Artist

Squidward has a dream, to become a famous clarinet player. Unfortunately, he is having troubles putting his aspirations into action. While his dreams are on hold, he is forced to take a cashier position at the Krusty Krab. If you have a dream, go for it. Even if you have to take some unpleasant jobs along the way, your dreams are worth it. Just make sure you are a better artist than Squidward and you will be fine.

SpongeBob: Odd Jobs

SpongeBob has such a positive attitude even though his life is falling apart. He doesn't have a driver's license and he has been stuck as a fry cook for who knows long. The worst part, he doesn't even get a raise or a promotion from Mr. Krabs. Even though SpongeBob is content with his life, make sure you don't get into a rut like him. With whatever job you get after you graduate, try to always keep moving up. Also, if you do not have a driver's license, it is not too late to get one.

Patrick Star: Rock Bottom

This is the worst possible situation. Patrick does not have a job and he lives under a rock. A rock. You could say he has hit rock bottom.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
