A Positive Outlook For 2017

For many, 2016 was not an easy year to stomach. From a controversial presidential election to saying goodbye to many talented souls, it seemed as if we would never emerge from the dark cloud that hung above our heads. Nevertheless, we must not let that dictate our behavior for the upcoming year.

It is time.

A time to take a stand.

A time to make a change.

A time to be true to ourselves.

As seen throughout 2016, there are many many people who need help all over the world. It is impossible to help them all by yourself so when you can, send up good vibes for those in need. You would be surprised at how much that could help.

2016 was a year filled with people taking stands on something they believe in. Don’t just be passive this year and watch the news happen. Find a cause you believe in and get involved as much as you can. Find something that makes your heart beat faster in the morning. An issue worth fighting for, even if you are fighting alone. For no matter is too small if you care enough.

Positivity is an amazing thing. It can help change your life and perspective. Try to incorporate positive thinking into your life this year. Remember the phrase: Positive thoughts, positive vibes, and positive life.

Adventure to an unknown place. Try new foods. Stick to your resolutions. The time for excuses has passed. Take control and experience as much as you can this year.

Above all, be helpful, be kind, and be a friend.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
