I Had A Political Change of Heart...

The candidate we need to survive

I Had A Political Change of Heart...
UCONN

After endless threats, “constructive” criticisms, arguments, and self-realizations, I have officially decided to change my political party affiliation. I know how shocking that might come across to some people but I have finally seen the light. All over the internet I have striven to make my voice and opinions heard by the public only to get my thoughts destroyed in the end. It is time for a new never before seen direction for this country and even more importantly for the world. We need a completely different perspective if we are to have a future for our children.

I have identified with a specific candidate who I truly believe represents the people and supports equal opportunity for all who are living. Let me tell you a bit about this candidate I am choosing to support. Yes, this candidate has a lot of baggage. Yes, this candidate has made many mistakes. Yes, this candidate has done many questionable things that may have cost lives. But in the end, it was always done for the best interest of the whole. I think there needs to be a fundamental shift in the way we are governed and there needs to be tremendous reform in the way leaders are chosen. In the words of my candidate: "Everyone who's alive right now. Everyone's who's made it this far. We've done the worst kinds of things just to stay alive. But we can still come back. We're not too far gone. We get to come back. I know... we all can change..."

We need to stop playing around and start getting serious about the way we are choosing to present ourselves to outsiders and I believe my candidate is the only person who will get the job done. My candidate believes not only all citizens should be allowed to carry guns but should in fact be forced to bear arms at all times. My candidate believes food, medicine, and healthcare should be available to all those alive today. They are not focused on building more borders, they are not interested in gaining more support, they just want to keep us safe. To further quote my candidate: "You step outside, you risk your life. You take a drink of water, you risk your life. And nowadays you breathe, you risk your life. Every moment now... you don't have a choice. The only thing you can choose is what you are risking it for. Now, I can make these people feel better and hang on a little bit longer. I can save lives. And that's enough reason to risk mine."

A true carer of others, a family oriented person, and a strong believer of risk taking for the betterment of society, there clearly is no better candidate. My candidate had a long hard horror fraught battle against one of the toughest Governors this world has ever seen but in the end he prevailed! Going forward there may be even more dangerous and threatening opponents, it is inevitable in fact, but somehow, someway my candidate always digs deep and finds the will to win. This is the candidate I want to secure my future and a future for us all.

So on this day, I denounce my prior political affiliation and embrace with open arms a new candidate and a new government for us all... a true and total Ricktatorship. This is not a democracy anymore. Not only is our next President, Rick Grimes, a strong candidate, but his choice for Vice President, Daryl Dixon, is a courageous and selfless guy who will stop at nothing to keep us all safe. I suggest you truly think hard about your choice for President, because mine promises a "Walker Free New World."

All joking aside, I am truly excited for season 7 of "The Walking Dead" to air and it's coming just in time for us to have a break from all the political chaos. Maybe Rick, Daryl, and the rest of the gang can help us see that all Republicans, Democrats, and other parties alike, have much more in common than we think.

Me showing my support for my new candidates ^

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
