I have not lost you.

The scent of your perfume still lingers.

I close my eyes and memories ensue.


We spent time waiting in the Disney World queue

for the show, interrupted by a cell phone ringer.

I have not lost you.


One night, you made me stew.

On the stove, I almost burnt my index finger.

I close my eyes and memories ensue.


The roses in your garden were covered in dew.

You watered the flowers without fear of bee stingers.

I have not lost you.


I remember your little old lady shoes

and your beaming ring on your wedding finger.

I close my eyes and memories ensue.


In the hospital, it was your cue.

We celebrated your life being singers

in the house of praise. I have not lost you.
