A Poem Of Society

We teach children to fix themselves

and that they need to be better people

to make the world a safer and better place.

We teach our children that people

are bad and unfair and cruel,

but we don't teach our children to change.

Our children are our future along

with our past, but what is the difference?

Each parent teaches their child

a set of morals to follow, and

each parent and child is different.

We mistake different with special,

no one gets to be above another person,

no one is built to be stronger or smarter.

Every parent, child, and person

is human, which is silly to say but true.

Humans aren't perfect and mistakes are made

yet we teach our children to be perfect,

then tell them they will never be perfect.

The problem with our society,

with our children and our future,

starts with each individual.
