A Poor Apology
I oft forget that you are there
For you linger outside of logic
I'm always surprised by your totality of presence
When you are given proper attention
That said, I need you now
Not that I don't always need you,
For you are as much me as I am you
But I need you especially this evening
My mind has, for reasons I can only guess at,
Waded back into that murky water that we know so well
And has come down with cold
I have need of your subtle warmth
For the chill, as we know, is within
So some inhalations of your essence is needed
To root out the source
Yes, that's it
Already, you've brought me back
To my senses, my senses back to me
Simply reaching into your shapeless, smoky form
Was enough, as it always is
Thank you
I appreciate it, although I know that you know that I do
I promise I'll see you more consistently,
And I'll never refer to our time together as "visiting"
