Love is a beautiful thing. And we don't need to wait for Valentine's Day to embrace the feeling. Here are some sentimental songs that will delight the hopeless romantic in you.
1. "Thinking Out Loud" by Ed Sheeran
I'm convinced this is one of those songs that our generation will turn into a wedding song. But it's well deserved. Ed Sheeran's whole demeanor is just cute, man, and this is such a purely romantic song. I'm all for it.
2. "Exchange" by Bryson Tiller
Bryson Tiller's been getting a lot of attention over the past year or so from his groovy-R&B-crooner-over-hard-trap-beats type of music. It's very much trap soul, just like his album title. I've been vibing with it lately, and I'm anxiously awaiting the moment he makes his crossover to pop. I believe it's gonna happen.
3. "The Way" by Kehlani (feat. Chance the Rapper)
♫I ain't even made my bed up...♫ Now, I don't even be listening to Kehlani like that, but I'd recommend it over this one song alone. It's a dope slow jam that can fit a good amount of love-strung situations.
4. "Bed Peace" by Jhene Aiko (feat. Childish Gambino)
This song's about finding beauty in simplicity. Love doesn't have to be full of exaggerated, animated gestures to be beautiful. Gambino and Jhene capture this perfectly.
5. "Harveston Lake" by Johnny Rain
This is a lovely song. It's quite somber at some points, but I still quite enjoy it. Also, I think the song writing's stellar.
6. "Refill" by Elle Varner
I I remember that I used to be in high school, practicing the vocal runs in this song. Elle Varner's voice is just stellar. This has got to be one of my all time favorite love-ish songs.
7. "All I Need" by NoName Gypsy (feat. SPZRKT)
This is a new banger. It's super cute and I'll always love NoName's flow and word play. I only hope that she gets the success that she deserves.
8. "Thinkin' Bout You" by Frank Ocean
You may be sick of this song, but I'm sure not. To me, it's a timeless record that I'm sure to bring up to my husband in twenty years talking about the good old days of R&B.
I hope you enjoyed my alternatively romantic song playlist! Here's to a incredible love filled year.
