1. Joes Dairy Bar

Hands down the BEST ice cream you've ever eaten. With great prices (and I mean GREAT) and even greater portions, this place is a local hotspot. While waiting on line can take up to a half hour some nights the wait is well worth it. With over thirty ice cream flavors and fresh soft serve, this place is an old school throwback well worth the drive!

2. Glazed Over Donuts

Located in Beacon, Glazed Over, which is a donut shop, is the perfect spot for anyone looking for a delicious treat with an artsy backdrop. Customers get the chance to create their own donuts with endless toppings like bacon, almonds, coconut and so much more. Best part? They are served warm!

3. Hyde Park Drive-In Theater

Head up to historic Hyde Park for the day and top your night off with a trip to the drive-in theater. For WAY cheaper than your movie theater you get to enjoy two movies for the price of one. This is a fun night time activity that won't break your bank! They have an adorable concession stand which really creates a 1950s euphoria! Head on up, but don't forget some chairs and bug spray!

4. FDR's Presidential Library

A perfect day when paired with #3, a trip to FDR's home is an awesome way to spend the day. Despite having been 18 times already, I love spending the day walking through his house and museum. There is so much to learn along with amazing artifacts to enhance the experience. You can also visit his gravesite which is right on the property. Not many people have the opportunity to live in such close proximity to a presidential library so don't miss out on it!

5. Walkway Over The Hudson

While this tourist attraction is a bit more well-known, it's just as popular and fun. While I suggest not visiting on a day over 80 degrees, this is a perfect afternoon activity. Standing over the middle of the Hudson River is one heck of an experience, not to mention you're in super close proximity to all of the above!

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
