The Top 6 Places To Cry At FGCU During Exams, Ranked

Sometimes, we all need a good cry.

As we go into finals week at Florida Gulf Coast University, the exams, projects, and papers begin to overwhelm us. And, well, sometimes, we all need a good cry. Which is why I'm writing this because here are the best places-and most acceptable places- to cry on FGCU's campus.

6. Merwin Boardwalk

Nothing better than crying on your way back to your car after an exam surrounded by FGCU's gorgeous cypress domes. Sometimes I just hope the fresh air and green trees help, but I get freaked out by a frog.

5. Dunkin' Donuts

Usually, I cry at Dunkin' because the line is just too long and I know I can't survive without coffee.

4. The Library

It's probably 3 a.m. Engineer majors are probably having a pizza party and thriving. You, on the other hand, are not thriving. You've got two exams on the same day, only 15 minutes apart. It's pretty safe to say you can get a good cry here. Being in the library is nice because you're able to escape to a study room real quick and get right back to those Crash Course videos.

3. Outside of your advisor's office

To me, this is one of the most acceptable places to cry. Maybe you're stressed to figure out what you want to major in, maybe you're changing your major, or maybe you're finding out you can't graduate on time. While advising offices are all over campus, crying in Sielder or Marieb or wherever is acceptable. Advising offices are a place we've all been hit with relatively bad news.

2. Puppy Palooza

If you're a student at FGCU, you know one of the best times of the years is Puppy Palooza! All you need is your ID and you can cuddle puppies for a couple of minutes to relieve some stress before finals. Are you crying because it's finals week or because you really want to adopt a puppy? No one's going to know, so just cuddle those puppies and cry.

1. Cohen Center

Cohen Center is a great place to study! With the Fishbowl and tons of dining options, it's a great spot on campus. With that being said, Cohen Center is also a totally acceptable place to cry. So, cry, go get some Chick-fil-A, and keep on studying!

beer on the beach

Summer is hot and humid, and it's almost like summer was made specifically to drink the refreshing, cold, crisp wonderful, delicious, nutritious nectar of the gods. Which is none other than beer; wonderful cold beer. With summer playing peek-a-boo around the corner while we finish up this semester, it's time to discuss the only important part of summer. And if you haven't already guessed, it's beer. There are few things I take more seriously than my beer, in order are: sports... and beer. Here are my favorite summer brews:

Bruce Springsteen's Top 7 Lyrics

Everything Bruce says in his classic rock songs.

bruce springsteen album cover born in the usa

Anyone who was born and raised in New Jersey (or anywhere really) knows of Bruce Springsteen, whether or not they like him is a whole other situation. I hope that his hundreds of classic rock songs and famous high energy performances, even in his sixties he can put on better concerts than people half his age, are at least recognizable to people of all ages. Love him or hate him (I identify with the former) you have to admit that some of his songs and interviews have inspirational quotes and lyrics.

New England Summers Are The BEST Summers

Why you should spend your next summer in New England.

Marconi Beach

Three years ago, I chose to attend college in Philadelphia, approximately 360 miles away from my small town in New Hampshire. I have learned many valuable lessons away from home, and have thoroughly enjoyed my time spent in Pennsylvania. One thing that my experience has taught me, however, is that it is absolutely impossible to beat a New England summer.

You cannot beat the beach. Believe it or not (which many people may not), New England has a long and beautiful coastline. Most of my high school summers were spent sitting on the Wall at Hampton Beach, getting sunburnt and eating Acai bowls from The Secret Spot. The Wall was the place to be both during the day and at night. We begin our days there with a KB's bagel and coffee, and end them with pizza and ice cream. It’s not a New England summer without that 4 p.m. text from someone, “Who wants to meet at the Wall tonight?” Nighttime is for Tripoli’s Pizza, the sound of waves, and wishes on shooting stars. Wednesday nights are especially important, as those are the nights that Hampton Beach sets off the weekly firework display.
