Chi Omega's philanthropy event, "Greek Sing", stands as the largest and most profitable philanthropy event at the University. Of all nation-wide Chi Omega chapters, the Lambda Alpha chapter at the University of Kentucky raises the most money yearly for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
According to Chi Omega member, Mia Epley, "Greek Sing is about the kids. Greek Sing is an event we hold yearly where all sororities and fraternities on campus compete in a dance competition. The winner of the competition takes home a profit to put towards their philanthropy, and we raise money to grant children wishes. so honestly…it's a win-win for everyone."
The event not only brings the Greek community together, but also brings the Lexington community together in order to support a great cause. Chi Omega member and University of Kentucky sophomore, Savanah Fraley, explains, "Greek Sing is one of the main reasons I wanted to be a Chi Omega. I went to Greek Sing last year and I was completely blown away. The level of time and dedication everyone involved puts into this event is truly inspiring…and you can tell just by watching how much this event means to our campus. The best part about this event hands down is seeing the look on the Make-A-Wish children's faces…it's truly unforgettable."
This year's Greek Sing is one you do not want to miss. The event will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 13, at Memorial Coliseum on campus. Tickets to the event can be purchased for $12 at the Student Center.
