1. You don’t have to stress about the perfect gift.
Buying gifts can be stressful. If you’re in the early stages of a relationship, you don’t know how much you should spend on your significant other, or if you should even buy them a gift that early on in the relationship at all. This is something that you don’t have to worry about if you’re single. You also don’t have to worry about finding a gift that they’ll love.
2. You can save money.
If you have one less gift to buy, then you’re saving yourself some money that you would have been spending on a significant other.
3. You don’t have to choose between your family and your significant other.
If your parents are split up, you already have to choose who to spend the holidays with. If you also have a significant other, you have another person who you have to make time for.
4. You don’t have to worry about awkward family get-togethers.
Whether you’ve met their parents or not, family get-togethers can be pretty awkward. If you’re single, you don’t have to worry about what to do in any awkward scenario that is bound to happen.
5. You’ll have more time to watch Christmas movies.
Who doesn’t love Christmas movies? You’ll have plenty more time to watch all the Christmas movies you want without fighting with someone over the remote.
6. You don’t have to feel obligated to bring your significant other to all of your Christmas parties.
Sometimes, it’s nice to go to a holiday party with your friends without your significant other tagging along. Everyone needs some time alone to be with their friends. If you’re single, you’ll have more time to spend with your friends during the holidays.
7. You don’t have to impress anyone.
Whether you’re the type to stress about finding the perfect outfit to wear, or worry about gaining weight, you won’t have to worry about either of those things when you’re single. So go ahead and eat that extra slice of pie, and wear that dorky ugly Christmas sweater.
Being single isn't always the most horrible thing.
