Perfect Can Be Imperfect

Love doesn't come easy, but when you find it, it all makes sense.

Perfect Can Be Imperfect

We all want a person for life. We may spend our whole lives looking for that one person. But the truth is, we can't look for them. As long as we keep looking, it will keep eluding us. We will get frustrated, we will get impatient, but we have to let life figure it out for us. We think we know ourselves the best and who would fit best with us. Sadly, we don't know ourselves as well as we think. Truth is, we have to let life figure out things for us because it will find the best person possible for us.

Once you think you've found the right person, you have to decide for yourself from then if you can see the rest of your life with that person. We all can put on fronts when we first meet someone and act as someone other than ourself, but who someone truly is is who you should fall in love with. Not just them when they're wearing their makeup or acting proper around your parents. If you can't be in love with how someone is on the inside and outside, then they aren't the one for you.

Fall in love with the person you can be endlessly silly with, but then be completely serious right after. Love the person you can call dude and babe in the same sentence. Adore the pictures they send you when they aren't even trying to look decent. Those are the pictures you should appreciate most because they show who the person truly is, underneath anything they try and front themselves with. Take pictures of them when you think they look beautiful, even if they hate them, they will appreciate the fact that you love them.

Go after the love that is imperfect. It will be your perfectly imperfect love that you two share. Nothing is easy when it comes to this stuff, but there is someone out there who can make it a little easier to handle. Through every stupid argument and disagreement you two have, love them endlessly because life picked them out specifically for you. If you have someone who loves you unconditionally, don't let them go, ever. And most importantly of all, do the same back by loving them unconditionally too. Appreciate what you have because not everyone finds that person for them.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
