Nothing hurts my soul more than hearing good morning any time before 2 p.m. There is literally no better feeling than going to bed and not having to set an alarm. And finally, nothing compares to the love we feel for our pillows.
There is a very common misconception associated with people who sleep a lot. Many people think we're lazy, unmotivated, disorganized and even somewhat depressed. These people are sadly, very mistaken.
Sleep refreshes the brain, body and soul. It recharges the powerhouse of the self. Rest is the best thing for innovative thinkers; it's what makes us better equipped to be productive, critical thinkers who change the world. Sleep changes the world.
Ever noticed how people who don't sleep a lot rely on caffeine and may even be more irritable and uptight than say, some who sleeps for 12 hours a night? Not everyone needs that much sleep, but it is important to rest your body as much as you need. People who don't sleep enough don't allow themselves to dream as much as they can or truly recharge their minds for the next day.
Stress is a big player in conditions like insomnia, jitters, irritability and a ton of other symptoms that could be cured with some extra rest.
Fall in love with your bed again. Buy some soft linens and load up on the pillows. Curl up with some Netflix and tea at 8 p.m., don't set an alarm and just let yourself sleep until you naturally wake up. Trust your body, it knows what's best for you.
The benefits of extra sleep every once in a while are unreal. When your brain recharges fully, you wake up with more energy. You have a much better time losing weight and keeping fit. You crave caffeine less, you're more productive when you're well-rested and your cognitive abilities are much more efficient and timely!
Let's talk for a moment about beds in general. Need I explain the love we should all feel for pillows? And on that note, are body pillows not enough motivation to glue yourself to your bed and never want to leave?
People who sleep a lot, dream more than people who don't. People who dream have minds that are more open and creative. People who are creative find ways to be organized without necessarily labeling everything. People who think like this aren't lazy, rather, they manage their time based on priority and interest combined. People who sleep a lot are less stressed out because body and mind come first. They aren't depressed because sleep releases endorphins. Endorphins make you happy. And as we all know, happy people don't kill their husbands.
