Need a morning pick-me-up and don't know where to go? State College has countless coffee shops, but only some are worth the morning pit-stop.

Here are the best of the best from 2018 to use as a guide for next semester or as an incoming Freshman:

1. Garner St. Starbucks

I'm a sucker for Starbucks, and this one is fast, in a convenient location, and perfect for studying (if you can get there early enough). It even has upstairs seating!

2. Sower's Harvest Cafe

New and amazing! Their variety of coffee choices is A+ and it's quality coffee! The food doesn't disappoint either. Just make sure you have enough cash to splurge, it's not the cheapest of State College.

3. Saint's Cafe

This small little shop nestled on Beaver Ave is perfect for your morning or mid-day coffee. It closes pretty early, which can be inconvenient, but the atmosphere is like no other downtown.

4. Saxby's

New to the Business Building this year, Saxby's has become loved by PSU students for its variety of coffee and foods. For those from the Philly area, Saxby's was definitely an exciting addition on campus!

5. Rothrock Coffee

Grab a group of friends and make the drive over to Rothrock Coffee for an amazing latte and avocado toast (what I recommend). The prices might hurt, but the taste and the atmosphere is well worth it. Consider it a lil' get-away!

6. Webster's Bookstore Cafe

This hidden spot on Beaver Ave is perfect for a quiet place to study or read! The coffee is great too. Check their calendar for upcoming events and head on over.

7. Au Bon Pain

There's one in the Kern Building and one in Visual Arts Building--both with the same great coffee (and food)! It's usually quick between classes, and they have self serve coffee. However, it can get crowded easily so find the best times to go.

8. Paterno Starbucks

It's new and modern, but the line is usually LONG. The seating around it is most likely going to be filled up when you visit too, but there's a study room connected that usually has a table or chair open! Great place to head for a study break when you're in the library.

9. Dunkin' Donuts

I'm not a Dunkin' girl myself, but for those of you that are, this Dunkin' is fast and its downtown (more on the west side)!

10. W. College Starbucks

I still love you 'Starbs,' but this one is far from most classes and central apartment buildings. Not to mention, it's always packed. I suggest you mobile order (LOL).

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
