The Party Pic Horoscope

When we all venture out for a good night on the weekend, we like to try out our go-to picture poses. Who knows how the pattern got started, but we all have that one facial expression, that one sloppy peace sign, or one odd arm placement. Whatever yours may be, there’s a meaning behind it inscribed in the stars. Here is your Post-Party Pic horoscope:

The Duck Face: You are one that typically enjoys a good cup of Starbucks coffee, perhaps one of the seasonal lattes. You are a social butterfly and an uncontrollable diva. Although confident in large groups, you still love your private time (to practice your selfies). Your Insta-game is stronger than the rest of your friends. The variety of lipstick colors you rock parallels your colorful personality. Power color: Red. Power Day: The 20th

The Wide Foot Stance: You’ve had quite the night so far. If you’re rocking this pose, you’ve clearly been doing something right. You’re the go-getter type who always sets the tone on the dance floor. You probably spend ample time at the Co-Rec, giving you proper knowledge of what the right muscles are to flex. Power color: Purple, Power day: The 4th

The Power Point: Woah there, hot stuff. Clearly you are quite the big deal. The power point makes the haters cringe and amplifies almost every photo filter. Although your coolness factor is seemingly high, don’t get caught up in the fame. Try to tone down the angle of that point to 45 degrees. Power Color: Blue, Power Day: 23rd

The foot pop: Everyone has one of these types in their friend group. Whenever this person goes out, they maintain their happy-go-lucky attitude from dawn till dusk. Although their sweet and innocent allure may seem enticing, beware. Their sweetness can only carry them so far before someone is posting passive aggressive Tweets from the bathroom. This person has little variation and is constantly stuck in their own ways. Once a foot-popper, always a foot-popper. Power Color: Green, Power Day: 30th

The Kisser: Or otherwise known as the clinical flirt. This person loves to show that they love everyone — even if they claim that they are “just friends.” Proceeding to post pictures kissing two different people, you gotta love the effort. Fingers crossed that their behavior remains PG-13 in public spaces. Power Color: Pink, Power day: 14th

I’m Uncomfortable”: This is my personal favorite. You are someone who knows how to have a good time but is just terrible at seeming normal or sane in photos. Whenever someone asks for a picture, you’re the first one to run in there. Although this picture typically ends with your eyes shut and your smile almost too wide. We love your enthusiasm, uncomfortable person, just don’t ruin the picture for the rest of us. Power color: Gold, Power day: 3rd

The Sorority Squat: You clearly love Greek life, everything Greek, and wait… I think you told me you were in a sorority! Maybe 10 times. You love your house and all of the fun social activities that come with it. From the sorority squat to throwing what you know, you’re ready for whatever life throws at you with this go-to power stance. Power color: Yellow, Power day: 10th

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
