Hey Guys,
I’m not about to lie to you, so I’m just gonna say it, this is not easy to write. That’s probably because I really don’t know where to even begin. I’m not going to start all the way back 19 years ago either because we all know that would take forever. I will say this though: You’ve been there for me from the start, and for that I am forever grateful. No, I don’t mean that just because you’re the ones who gave birth to me, but I mean that because you have never given me a reason to think you did not believe in me. Thank you for never giving up on me and for always supporting me in everything I have done.
I honestly do not believe there is anybody else in the world that could put up with my crazy, energetic, and sometimes stupid self in the way that you both do. At least, not enough to be able to consider themselves as my parents anyway. Sure I have my best friends whose parents sometimes act as if they’re mine too, but none of them come close to either of you. You two are the ones who have raised me to be the strong and independent person that I am today. You’re the ones who have always pushed me to do my best, and you have never let me give up no matter how hard things got.
Mom and Dad, you have given me everything I could ever want and so much more. So many sacrifices were made by you just to ensure my success and happiness. There isn’t much more I could ask for from either of you in terms of giving me what I need to go through this crazy adventure we all call life. We’ve had our ups and our downs throughout the years, but not once have I doubted your love for me. I know I do not always show it, but I really do care and appreciate everything you have done for me because I am not always the easiest person to handle.
Our family has gone through a lot in the past few years, but what we have gone through has only brought us even closer together. Families are supposed to be close, but I believe ours has a special bond that truly is unbreakable. I believe this bond can be largely credited to you two. You raised us to be strong and not get easily torn down by things people say to us or events that we may go through within our lives. I am so grateful to have the two of you as my parents, and I really do not believe that I would be where I am today without either of you.
Now, I want to give you an apologetic thank you. Thank you for being there and for believing in me even when I didn’t believe in myself. Thank you for never giving up on me or doubting my ability to do something and for pushing me when I needed to be pushed. I want you to know that I will never stop loving either of you. I know I do not always show it, but I want you to know that I do love you both and that I appreciate everything you have done for me and continue to do for me. You guys are the best parents that anybody could ever ask for, and I couldn’t ask for anybody else because I do not know too many parents that do what the two of you do for me. Thank you.
Love,
The Proud Daughter of Some Great Parents
