Some people don't have two parents that love them or two parents that love each other anymore. I was lucky enough to grow up with the two of you, who truly love each other. It's amazing to think you've been able to put up with each others crazy for this long. I commend you for that and hope there are many more years to come. So on your anniversary, I offer you my appreciation for giving me an amazing model of what love and marriage should be like. Since you are getting older, there are some things I want you to know after all these years of marriage.
Remember where you started
It's your anniversary. I wasn't there when you first fell in love, but I wish I could have been. Seeing the way you two are together makes me believe you've always loved each other. It's hard to believe that there was ever a time that you two didn't even know each other. Do you even remember that? Would you have done it all over again the same way? I imagine so. Remember why you fell in love in the first place as more years pass. Like you always say when you're bickering, "You asked" and "You said yes."
Never stop laughing
Everything is always better when you're laughing. You've shown me this over the years. Any hard or stressful situation has always ended with one of your jokes. Never forget that the most important thing is that you make each other laugh. It's when you can really tell you're in love. Our family wouldn't have survived as it as without the laughter you brought into our house. It's the greatest gift.
Your kids appreciate you
You always say you'd do anything for us, but the best thing you ever did for us was love each other. The way you are together makes everything better. You're not the overly affectionate, embarrassing parents. Your love is subtle and that makes it all the more better. You show what it means to love and be loved. There's no greater model for your kids.
There will be many more years to come
Even though you've been married for most of your life, there is still more time. More time to laugh, annoy, work, smile, kiss, and love. I want to be able to spend my time with my old and graying parents while they're still happily in love. I can't wait to annoy you about how old you guys are and remind you why you love each other.
So, happy anniversary, and I hope you realize how much I appreciate you. I know I might not say it enough, but you are my greatest role models. I'm more than happy that you've been together for as long as you have. My life wouldn't be the same without you two together. For that, I am forever grateful.
Thanks to my parents for being the best I could ask for. Happy 25th anniversary!
