A Letter To My Favorite Band

You are the only exception.

Dear Paramore,

It all started in the 7th grade. The first song I heard was ‘That’s What You Get’ on Rockband 2 when I was playing with my cousin. I’ve fallen in love with your music ever since. Then, I later learned to play ‘The Only Exception’ on guitar. Til this day, I know it by heart.

The first record I bought was Brand New Eyes a year after that record was released, I believe. The only song I knew was the only exception, and that sort of became my ‘anthem’ in 7th grade. Later on, I eventually listened to the other songs on Brand New Eyes and I would put it on repeat. I discovered a little later on that you had two other records out, so I slowly, but surely bought the other two.

I know every single song of yours by heart.

On November 24th, 2013 my friend Sydney and I went to your concert for the first time. We decided to go to the venue at around 11 am and noon. Before I left, I saw on the news that it was the coldest day of the year, but it was more than worth it to wait seven hours in line to see you live and SO up close. The seven hours consisted of walking to target several times, talking about our favorite songs, and how excited we were for you guys to start the show.

Since you opened with 'Grow Up' I've associated that song with my first time seeing you guys live and I always will.

I remember Sydney and I wearing the exact same shirts and what a thrill it was to finally see you guys live after four years of listening to your music.

On July 11th, 2014, I had another chance to see you live, but this time with my friend Stacia when you guys were on tour with fall out boy. Although I wasn’t as up close, it was still another amazing experience. Fall Out Boy was amazing too.

A lot of my friends know me as the biggest Paramore fan. I know so much about you and my friends know that I could talk about you forever.

I love the quirks, personalities, and facts that I learn about each member. I love seeing the band grow from when I first listened to you. I love how when you play Misery Business live, you invite someone on stage and the stage is theirs. I also love how the fan base is so incredibly supportive and amazing. I’m so glad I’m apart of it. I love everything about you.

Whenever I feel have a bad day or I just want to hear a happy song, your music lightens up my day.

It’s so crazy to think that because I’ve worn a Paramore shirt, I’ve met some of my best friends. It’s a conversation starter and I meet someone who loves them as much as I do or is first discovering who you are.

The next thing on my bucket list is to meet you guys and to go on Parahoy. It’d be so crazy and amazing to talk to you, tell you how much I love you and give you a hug. Going on stage and singing Misery Business with you would also be amazing.

Ok, ok, anything associated with you, my favorite band in the world, would be amazing. Anything as simple as hanging out with you the whole entire day; jamming out, eating, etc.

I love you, Paramore. Thank you for making music and existing

Love,

Your Biggest Fan

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
