What is Overwatch?

Overwatch is a team-based multiplayer first-person shooter video game developed and published by Blizzard Entertainment, which released on May 24, 2016 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows. Described as a "hero shooter", Overwatch assigns players into two teams of six, with each player selecting from a roster of over 20 characters, known as "heroes", each with a unique style of play whose roles are divided into three general categories that fit their role. Players on a team work together to secure and defend control points on a map or escort a payload across the map in a limited amount of time. Players gain cosmetic rewards that do not affect gameplay, such as character skins and victory poses, as they play the game. The game was initially launched with casual play, with a competitive ranked mode, various 'arcade' game modes, and a player-customizable server browser subsequently included following its release. Additionally, Blizzard has developed and added new characters, maps, and game modes post-release, while stating that all Overwatch updates will remain free, with the only additional cost to players being microtransactions to earn additional cosmetic rewards. -Wikipedia

So, why should you be playing Overwatch?

1. Customizations

You can customize you character avatar including skins, weapons, trophies, and portraits.

2. The Kill Cam

Most people learn to do something better once they have seen where and how they made a mistake. The same can be said within the game of Overwatch by using your kill cam. The Kill Cam shows you how you were killed in battle with a different view than your character may have originally given.

3. Cool Character Abilities

Unique characters are a huge part of how any game is successful. I think it really comes down to the way the abilities are different for each role a character plays. If every character had the exact same abilities, no one would play the game. It would be rather boring. Does it benefit you to be invisible? Would you work better if you could reverse time?

4. Cooperation In Gameplay

If your team can't work together you will not win the match, so within Overwatch cooperation is key to your success as a team, as a member of that team, and for your individual character.

5. Esports Are Huge Right Now

If there is cooperative play, there is usually esports. Did you know Overwatch, and many other games like it, have professional leagues where players play the game and can win prizes or even money?

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
