Prepare for some traffic getting into the orchard itself.

The ride to Outhouse Orchards from Fordham in the Bronx took just under an hour. However, we did get stuck in about 15-20 minutes of traffic trying to get into the parking lot.

Parking cost $10 but considering how close it is to the orchards I would definitely say it is worth it - especially if you're splitting the cost with friends.

Wear loose and or comfortable clothing because it is a rather physical activity 

Although you may want to look super cute for the pictures, you should also keep in mind that you may not want to wear those super tight jeans because you never know what the situation will call for. You want to be able to keep up with everyone else without worrying about your clothes or being uncomfortable walking around!!

This past weekend, two of my friends and I went apple picking and it was SO much fun. I do with that I went with a more comfortable outfit, however, because I did spend a good amount of time yanking my jeans back up.

Bring cash and possibly a wagon!

Some apple orchards only accept cash, so look online and come prepared!

Additionally, something my friends and I noticed was that some people came very prepared and brought wagons with them and we very much wished we came that prepared because lugging around a whole bushel of apples gets tiring very fast!

Don't miss out on the little markets with fresh baked goods and fresh picked produce

If you don't get apple cider and apple cider donuts when you go apple picking, did you even go???

I've tried apple cider donuts from all over and I would give the ones at outhouse orchards a solid 8/10. They were a bit under sweet in my opinion (whatever the heck that means!)

I'd give their apple cider a 10/10!! It was absolutely amazing! Sometimes I do not like when apple cider is too heavy, but theirs was perfectly light and refreshing!

Outhouse Orchards is definitely worth the drive!

Because I grew up in Westchester, I've been to apple orchards all over! With having so many different experiences, I can say that Outhouse Orchards is absolutely lovely, reasonably priced and definitely worth the trip!
