A Thank You Letter To My Boyfriend

Coming up on my one year anniversary with my boyfriend, I realized I have a lot to be thankful about. This letter is for him, but it should be able to represent all of those other good boyfriends out there, and I hope they all do what they're supposed to do. So here's to the boyfriends who are always there for us and try to make us happy, and most importantly, to mine.

To the man who has my heart,

Where do I begin? When I think of you, so many things come to mind. I think about who I was before you, and I think about how much you've influenced who I am now. I think about how you know who I am, took the time to learn who I was, and have the patience to understand all parts of me. Every day I am more and more grateful to have you by my side.

You've become not only my partner but my best friend, and there's nothing more that I could ask for. So I want to take the time to say thank you for all you have done and continue to do for me.

Thank you for understanding me, that's a big one because lord knows I am one crazy human. Thank you for loving me, flaws and all. Thank you for listening to me and actually enjoying my never ending stories. And thank you for somehow retaining all of the information I tell you.

Thank you for letting me be yours, but for also letting me be myself. Thank you for never being possessive over me but instead protective. Thank you for your open mind and caring heart for everyone around you. Thank you for caring for me the most and for taking care of me even if I refuse help.

Thank you for your words of encouragement when I need them, your unwavering support for me, and for being my biggest fan. Thank you for finding me beautiful when I'm wearing sweatpants with a bun on my head and eating 200 Reese's peanut butter cups. (Also thank you for always bringing me Reese's peanut butter cups). Thank you for bringing me flowers just because. Thank you for the way you look at me, because I know that when I catch a glimpse of it all of my worries wash away, and in that moment I am most sure of how much you love me.

Thank you for pushing me past my limits and building me up every step of the way. Thank you for believing in me when I fail to do so myself and thank you for never letting me forget that I'm capable of so much more.

Thank you for letting me cry to you even when I have absolutely no reason to cry, and for holding me all the while. Thank you for not getting mad at me when I call you 30 times in a row. And thank you for always returning my calls if you weren't near your phone. Thank you for reminding me how much you love me every single day and for always letting me know that you are lucky. Even though I know I'm the lucky one.

Most importantly, thank you for being there because that's all I really need and you always are.

I love you forever and ever and I am so proud to call you mine.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
