Let me start with this: I have been given the amazing and beautiful gift of knowing my all four of my grandparents and having them all be involved in my life. For that gift, I will be forever grateful. It's only fair that I write this so that they (and all of the other grandparents out there) know how much the little things you've done have impacted my life. When I was young, "We're going to grandma and grandpa's" were the most awesome words my parents could say. And yes, that's still true today. I LOVE spending time with my grandparents for the sole fact that I think they're the coolest people in the world. Here's why:
First of all, thanks for letting me do the things my parents didn't. Thanks for letting me eat chips, ice cream and cookies until I couldn't move because you knew at home we didn't get to. Thanks for making me Kraft Mac-N-Cheese for lunch on my visits (yours always tasted better than any kind anyone else made me). Thanks for letting me drink soda because you know our parents wouldn't usually let us get hopped up on sugar. Thanks for baking cookies with me and teaching me how to cook some of your best dishes. Thanks for letting me finger paint, lay my toys all over the floor, play outside in the dirt and color with permanent markers just to get me all dirty and hand me back to my parents to deal with afterwards. Trust me when I say that meant the entire world to me.
Second, thanks for being so involved. Thanks for coming to every important and special day in my life. Thanks for coming to my birthday parties and graduation ceremonies. Thanks for sitting through every dance recital (even when you probably wanted to bolt after hour number 3..). Thanks for coming to every play and telling me, "You were the best one up there!" even if I made a mistake. Thanks for your outpouring of love and support since the day I was born. Although, your bragging about me may have been a little embarrassing at times, it always makes me feel special to know that you're proud.
Lastly, thanks for giving me the most awesome parents in the whole entire world. I know that my parents didn't become the amazing people that they are by themselves - and you had a major part in that. Thanks for raising them to be good people because I know a lot of the things I'm learning from them comes from you.
So to conclude, thanks for everything. Thanks for the presents, laughs, smiles and countless amazing memories. I will forever cherish the memories we've made and will make in the future. I love you guys forever!
