My Dearest Roommate,

It's crazy how I haven't even known you for a year, yet it feels as though we've been friends for a lifetime. I'm writing this to say "thanks", because without you, I don't know how I would have made it through college.

First of all, let me just thank you for dealing with me. I know I can be a pain-in-the-butt sometimes and sharing a room with me is not the easiest, trust me, my mom let me know all the time when I was living at home. It was hard enough keeping a one-person room clean, let alone a two-person room. I don't understand how you do it. You may not like my taste in music, but you don't say anything. You may not like what I watch on TV, but you watch it anyway. You may not like some of the people I invite over, but you converse with them. Kudos to you, my friend, because I don't think I'd be that laid back if all that stuff bothered me. So even if I don't always tell you, I'm thankful that you tolerate me.

Thank you for being my best friend. College was a rough transition for me, especially being away from home and in a different state. I was so worried about making friends, but after meeting you, it definitely eased my nerves. I had heard so many roommate horror stories and just thinking to myself, "Oh my gosh what would I do if that happened to me?", and thank goodness it didn't. I am so lucky that you and I have similar interests because I think that made our first interactions way easier. I believe that we were destined to find each other right when each of us needed it most.

Thank you for letting me friends with your friends. Since I was going to college basically by myself, I was so concerned with making friends but I knew you were coming from such a close area, I knew most of your friends would be attending the same school. I am so lucky that you were open to having me meet some of your closest friends, who I can honestly say, are now my best friends.

Thank you for staying up late talking with me. It feels like a sleepover every night, honestly. It's not too often that your best friend shares a room with you. I love that we can gossip, giggle, and laugh so hard we snort until 3 in the morning. I love that we can talk about anything with each other, no matter how weird, gross, or TMI it may be. Thank you for having a good time with me. Everyday is an absolute blast with you and I'm so lucky.

Thank you for letting me into your family. I can't believe how much I love your family. They greeted me with open arms so fast it was kind of scary. Even though they aren't blood-related, I feel such a deep connection to them. They're so supportive of me and my accomplishments, and I couldn't be more grateful to have them apart of my life.

So even though I haven't touched on nearly as many things as I wanted to, I hope this gives you a little idea of how special you are to me. I know that we will probably be friends for life, and I can't wait to see what the future holds with you!

See you in the room later,

Your Roomie

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
