Dear Sister,
Thank you for always giving me advice, even when I acted like I don't want any. Every time I am having trouble, whether that be with a boy, friends, or insecurities, you are right there to hold me up. I have so many fond memories of the countless nights we would stay up all night giving each other advice or ranting to one another. Even when I tell you my problems and you don't have any advice to give, you still help me. You make me cry, but they are tears from laughing so hard. You make the burdens on my shoulders feel lighter because you are carrying them with me.
Thank you for being my partner in crime. I have you to thank for most of my childhood memories. I can't even imagine family gatherings without you! Who would be the only one choking on laughter with me and everyone else being left confused? Who would I pass the time with when it seemed we would never leave? If it weren't for you, I wouldn't have anyone to blame when I do something wrong. I remember an infinite amount of times us laughing together or simply talking when we weren't supposed to and gradually getting louder. Of course, by the time we couldn't be quiet anymore, Mom came in and told us to be quiet, but that only made us louder!
Thank you for being my cheerleader. Sometimes, on very rare occasions, you can't make it to something I am performing in. I know if you can't come, I can expect a text from you wishing me good luck and saying you love me. You never let anyone talk bad about me and you never let me forget that I deserve more. You never let me forget the talents I have been given. If I ever forget my worth, you are the first person to remind me. On the nights I can't seem to stop crying, your constant reminders and your constant support keep me going. You are always rooting for me.
Thank you for being my best friend. You know me better than anyone. We have lived together for all of my life and all of yours that you can remember. We talk all the time. Even when we are meant to be quiet, if we aren't talking out loud, we are texting. We always went to the same school, until you would move to the next school, but I would be there just one year later. I'm really going to hate it when you leave for college because we have pretty much spent every day together. How will I function without you? I feel like I'll be losing half of me.
With all this said, it still doesn't begin to thank you enough for simply being you. I am so immensely thankful for all of our memories and I can't wait to make even more. I'm sorry for all the times my words and actions give evidence for otherwise, but I love you to the moon and back.
