Mr. Trump,

Normally I would start off such a letter with a phrase such as "with all due respect". But frankly, I don't think you deserve even an iota of my respect. When you first announced that you were running for President of the United States, I, like most people, simply laughed it off. I thought to myself "he won't last long, the American people can't possibly think that such a bigot is capable of being in charge of our nuclear weapons and have the fate of our country in his hands". But unfortunately, I was so very wrong.

Over the past six months, I have watched your campaign and your supporters morph into a dangerous cocktail of racism, violence, and blatant ignorance. In such a country that calls itself "the land of the free, the home of the brave", a country that I am proud to call home, a Muslim woman peacefully protesting at one of your rallies was hit, spit on, and forcefully ejected by security. In a lawsuit against you, you have attempted to discredit Judge Gonzalo P. Curiel's credibility simply because of his "Mexican" heritage. When in fact, the man in question is a full American citizen and Indiana native. Since the shooting at Pulse nightclub in Orlando, you have even stooped to claiming that our current President of the United States, Barack Obama (who is more of a man than you can ever hope to be) is somehow involved/in on the plot "because he's a Muslim". Shame on you, Mr. Trump. Shame on you for attempting to tear down our President, the Commander in Chief of our military -- a noble and fair man, only to augment your own fragile, flimsy ego.

You have used fearmongering tactics and hateful rhetoric to accumulate what can only be referred to as the lowest common denominator of our country as supporters. I hope that you're happy with the tumult you have caused, and the laughingstock you have turned our country's political system into on the international stage. There is a saying that I have seen floating around lately that reads, "No matter how you spin it, this election will be one for the ages. We will either elect the first Jewish president, the first female president, or the last president". And I truly believe that with the abhorrent policies you advocate and the hate you preach, having you as President of the United States, filling the Oval Office and the White House with your toxic rhetoric, will signify the beginning of the end of our political system. What really grinds my gears is that somehow you have divided the population of our country and deluded them into thinking you are somehow a better alternative than Mr. Sanders or Mrs. Clinton. I am left dumbfounded and confused, but I've got to hand it to you, your methods work. I am writing this article from China, where my professor at university told our class today that she is scared to come to America if you are to be elected. So congratulations, you are beginning to alienate the largest country in the world with your hate speech. No amount of silly edited videos of you saying "China" in rapid succession can help you now.

In my humble opinion, you are an absolutely despicable man, one who I hope disappears quickly. It is a silly wish for you to go quietly, because you will not. It is against everything you believe in to let capable politicians such as Mrs. Clinton or Mr. Sanders make decisions that will positively impact our country. As a citizen of the United States belonging to the fastest-growing voting bloc, I implore you to please, please go away. I do so quietly and peacefully, using the written word and not my fists. Because after all, the pen is stronger than the sword.

Sincerely,

A new voter hoping for a better future for her country

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
