Dear Freshman Roommate,
Thank you. Thank you for being there to keep me company during all the orientation activities ranging from Hall Olympics to Bingo Night. Thanks for being my guaranteed lunch buddy, seat saver, schedule updater, etc. I know we might have met different people at orientation and become "besties" with people other than each other, but you will forever and always be my first friend in college.
Thank you. Thank you for putting up with me when I stay up past midnight, usually leaving the fluorescent overhead light on. Thanks for never turning the light on when I'm taking a nap the next day, just to get even with me. Thank you for vacuuming up all of my hair from the floor (and sorry about the super gross hairballs you most likely found). Thanks for understanding that I don't want to walk all the way to the bathroom to put on my makeup, so you gave me the one and only mirror in the room.
Thank you. Thanks for being there to complain with me when we both haven't even started the homework that's due at 9 a.m. the next morning. Thanks for answering all of my annoying questions about the homework because I decided to skip class.
I'm completely sure that I annoy the living crap out of you. So thanks for putting up with all of my baggage... literally, my baggage. I'm sorry for coming back from break with those mega suitcases that took up all the floor space when I finally started to unpack. Also, I'm sorry that I have a disproportionate amount of room space when you actually think about it. Oh, and sorry for locking you out that one time (okay, it was probably more than one time).
But most of all, thanks for understanding that we don't have to be best friends. Thanks for understanding that we have different interests and paths to take in life. This year would not have been as great if it hadn't been for you. I know you are going to do amazing things with your life, and I hope I can hear all about them. We may not be roommates next year, but I hope that we can still be friends.
