You all know who you are,
Some know all the personal challenges I have endured this year; some do not. But it doesn’t change the fact that all of you have helped me in your own special ways, even if you did not know it. To gain closure of my sophomore year of college, I want to make sure my gratitude is known. I most definitely will not call out names in this article, but you will know (probably along with the rest of our staff family) who you are and what impact you’ve made on me by the end.
To the goofiest coworker I have met, you had your struggles, but you were always happy, no matter what. You certainly know how to enjoy life, and you definitely brought out my outgoing personality. I loved our talks, our story telling, and our singing sessions. You’re the role model of positivity and I owe a majority of my laughter to you! Above everything, you’ve always had respect for me, and that means the world to anyone.
To my Beefy Crunch Burrito Activist co-worker, you are insanely pretty, and a great listener. We have had so many girl talks while we were on call together. Thank you for sticking it out with me on those long nights, and for keeping me in check when I had homework to do. It was great that I got to know you, and I’m excited to come back next year to work with you.
To my co-worker whose clothes I really want to steal, you have the greatest fashion sense ever! Whether you’re dressing up or down, you look great either way. The night we played basketball together was a time I needed to get my mind off things, and we were shooting around for a while. Even though you didn’t know it, you kept my mind busy, and I had fun; from that moment, on, it was nice talking and laughing with you.
To my Game of Thrones co-worker, you look really great dressed up, and I only encourage you to dress up more often. You have a really outgoing personality that more of the world needs to see. For all the late night talks and especially all the laughs you gave me at the end of this Spring semester, I have so much appreciation for it. For the times you heard me complain, and for all the times you laughed at my terrible jokes and sadistic sarcasm, thanks a million!
To my English major co-worker, you are the most inspiring and most positive person I’ve met that is my age. Even those who are older than me do not have a really great perspective about life. For all the times you have sparked conversations with me, for the amazing support and heartwarming feedback you’ve given me to write for The Odyssey, and for appreciating everything I do for you and our staff, my heart goes out to you.
To my co-worker I owe the most gratitude to, you are amazing. You were the first person this semester to try to get to know me; though that was you just being polite and friendly, it was the boost I needed to come out of my shell and get to know you and the rest of our coworkers. You’re not afraid to speak your mind, and even when you might’ve been facing your own problems, you were there to help me with mine. Your advice is humorous, yet impactful, and there was never a time you passed by me without adding a smile to my face. Much love and appreciation goes in your direction.
For everything: the laughs, the smiles, the complaints, the agreements and the disagreements, the programs, the late nights, the advice, and the talks, I couldn’t have faced this semester without them. You all are an inspiration, and I see every one of you reaching your goals. Please do not change who you are; I know I am not the only one you are impacting.
