Dear Bestie's Boyfriend,

Let me just start off by telling you just how lucky you are. You snatched up just about the greatest girl ever. Knowing her as an individual has been such a pleasure, but getting to know her as part of something bigger is a whole different story.

You know, I still remember the day when she first told me about you. Back when you two were still just friends. Her eyes lit up when she spoke about the way you hugged her, waved to her in the hall, or spontaneously texted her asking her about her day. Though at the time we may not have known it, soon both of our lives would be changed for the better. To be honest, when I first found out that you two were dating, I wasn't 100 percent ecstatic. I was over-joyed that she finally found her Prince Charming, but what I didn't look forward to was having to share her with someone else. Though I may have been selfish back then, I want you to know that now I couldn't be happier you are a part of her life. Before you came along, I was the one who put a smile on her face, made her laugh, and wiped away her tears when she was upset about something; however, now that you're here, I know I can trust you to do all of that for her and more.

A few things you need to promise me you'll do as her boyfriend:

1. First, and foremost, you have to promise me that you'll never ever hurt her. I know you won't, but as her best friend I'm obligated to inform you that if you did something to hurt her I will personally see to it that you get taken care of.

2. Secondly, you have to promise me that you'll always be there for her. In the case that I may not be able to be there for her, I want to know that I can count on you to be around for her whenever she needs someone.

3. Thirdly, promise me you'll never let her go. Now that you are dating the greatest girl ever, you have to make sure you never take her love for granted. As her best friend, I don't know what I would do without her, so I hope you realize she is a gem that only comes around once in a lifetime.

Lastly, I just want you to know that she and I are a package deal. I will probably be that friend to crash your guys' dates and third wheel when you guys go to see a movie but just know that that is something you'll have to deal with. As her best friend, I always want the best for her including the best boyfriend so I'll leave you with this: My last and final wish for your guys' future is that when the day comes and I'm standing next to her as she says "I Do", that you'll be the one she's saying it to.
