It's hard to believe that we talked and spent almost every day with each other for over two years and now we don't even say two words to one another. It's crazy to believe that I was in love with you at one point and that I would do anything for you and I know you would have done the same but somehow that flame had just blown out.
I just wanted to say thank you. Although at the time we both thought that we would eventually spend the rest of our lives together and be able to get over any obstacle, we couldn't. You showed me that not all relationships last and that it may be for the better that they don't. You also showed me that it's easier to start a relationship with someone that is your best friend, since you already know everything about each other and you already love them even with their imperfections. Dating your best friend does have it's downfall because, if it doesn't work out, you will eventually lose them forever...which I did.
You were my rock to lean on when I needed someone there when all hell was breaking loose in my life and I couldn't thank you more for that. You were always there for my ups and downs and even though I seemed like a crazy girlfriend at times you knew it was only out of love...well, I hope that you did. I was so incredibly lucky to have someone like you by my side during high school because you always made sure I was OK and never let me go to bed upset with whatever was happening that day.
I know that most girls say that their high school boyfriend was a piece of crap, but I think that you opened my eyes to how a guy should/shouldn't treat me and what someone would do if they really loved me. Although it didn't work out between you and I, I do wish the best for you and your family. (whom I miss terribly because they all rock) I know you'll do great things and I can't wait to see where you go. Any girl is lucky to have you.
Sincerely,
Your High School Girlfriend
