A Letter To All People Below 5 Feet Tall

Dear short people,

I write this with great assimilation as I am 4'9" myself, so yeah, I know about that life.

First of all, let me begin by letting you know that you are very much a normal human being just in case anybody has ever made you feel otherwise. As long as you have a cerebrum, a heart, and are in need of oxygen to survive then you are a normal human, congratulations!

I know many times we may be easy targets for bullies. There probably isn't a day I don't get stopped just to be called "cute" or asked: "how tall are you?", or get made fun of just for being short. It is an everyday thing that you will have to live with for the rest of your life, but don't get overwhelmed by this negativity.

You choose the attitude you want to live your day with. Make a positive one! Smile to each and every stranger that you come across with every day. Yet, the most important thing is: to never forget you are fully capable of doing every single little thing you set yourself to do.

Never forget, it is the power of your personality that makes you tall, not your height! Stand tall, proud, and always be positive!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. 16. To be prepared for anything.

17. That you don't always have to do it alone.

18. How to be creative.

19. To brush off gossip.

I have never been so thankful to know you.
