My dearest Thanksgiving leftovers,

Christmas music has begun on the radios. Freeform is preparing for the 25 Days of Christmas special. Twinkling lights decorate the houses on every street in the neighborhood. And there you are, as delicious and beautiful as ever.

Ross Gellar knew the value of Thanksgiving leftovers. Personally, I would also find myself getting suspended from my job and put in an anger management program if I found someone had eaten my delicious leftovers. It's a sacred part of the holiday season that is anticipated by all.

The most amazing moment is the day after Thanksgiving. You wake up from your turkey-induced coma just to make yourself a heaping plate of mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, turkey, and sweet potatoes. Besides, isn't the breakfast of champions leftover pumpkin pie? Thanksgiving is a time to put away the calorie counters and just enjoy being with your friends and family, surrounded by good food, and that exception extends until the last of the leftovers has been devoured.

I don't know how you do it, my lovely leftovers, but someone you manage to nearly taste better the days following the big day than you do at the table. No matter the reason, it is undeniable that nothing can beat the taste of eating your Thanksgiving leftovers in the following days, especially if you bring them to work because then you get to relive all the joy of the day while working the grind.

People that think Thanksgiving is a holiday that we can overlook in order to fast forward to Christmas have obviously never fully enjoyed the beauty of eating these leftover holiday delicacies for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. In fact, there are people that think they would tire of eating the same dishes every meal of the day for days on end. To them, I say, "Bah, humbug!"

Every family has it's own Thanksgiving Day meal traditions, whether that be going around and sharing what everyone is thankful for or if it's hiding the bread basket from one of the family members so they don't devour all of the rolls before anyone else gets a chance at them (which is definitely not what my family has to do to me!). Eating these leftovers later reminds us of that blessed day of remembering just what exactly we are thankful for and kicking off the holiday season.

So be prepared my turkey, green bean casserole, broccoli and cheese tart, mashed potatoes, and fresh baked rolls. I'm coming home for Thanksgiving, and we'll be munching on you until everything is gone.

Sincerely,

Someone who is beyond ready to gain back every calorie she's lost this semester.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
