To the girl who became my teammate then my roommate and now my best friend,
Not many people get the chance to say that their best friend is also their teammate and roommate. You are always there through thick and thin at every moment in my life. Whether I'm having a breakdown at 2 a.m., helping me decide what to cook for dinner or after a tough day at practice, we go through it all together.
I've been asked more times than I can count if we ever get sick of each other since we spend just about every waking moment together.
Sure, we have those busy days when we barely see each other. And it always makes me laugh how, after finally reuniting at the end of a long day, we act as if we've been separated for months.
People always say that we're attached at the hip and we can't go anywhere without the other, but I wouldn't want to be attached to anyone else. We experience so much together and what one goes through the other goes through as well.
You're my mom when I need it and my partner in crime when the chance arises. You encourage me to do my best and be the best me. You hold me to a higher standard and remind me how far I can go in life. I can only hope I do the same for you.
Those nights I really don't want to study, you remind me why I should. You even sat in the library for hours with me while I studied! Thank you for being the extra push when I need it, and also being the person to tell me it's okay to take a nap or to take a break and go have some fun when life gets stressful.
I would truly be lost without you.
Thanks for being you. Thanks for putting up with me. And thank you for never giving up on me. I love our life talks on the couch that happen just as we are about to go to bed, and how we laugh until we cry about jokes that no else thinks are funny.
I love the songs we sing that often make no sense, and the ongoing "if you lose you're cooking" dinner conversations at practice.
I don't know how I got so lucky to not only have a teammate like you, but also a roommate and best friend in the same person. Thank you for everything you do for me. Without you, I probably would lose my mind.
One day, I hope my future daughter finds a best friend like I have found you.
Sincerely,
A forever thankful teammate, roommate and best friend.
