Ohio, you are at it again. How many times will you allow us to experience all four seasons in the same week? Ohio, please do us all a favor, pick a season and stick with it. We are all sick and tired of wearing shorts, t-shirts and sandals one day then the next day having to dress like we are all from Antarctica all because you decide give us the wondrous gift of a freak snow storm. Yes, we enjoy snow days and cold days, but only let it snow enough so that kids can have a snow day. This year you made us think that winter would never come, and we were perfectly ok with that, (I mean who really enjoys winter anyway?) but then you hit us with several snow storms and single digit temperatures. Rain to snow, 60 degrees to 15 degrees. What other state does this? None, only you.
This freak weather is creating a lot of confusion. Is it spring? Is it winter? Will winter ever arrive? Will spring ever come? Ohio, please make up your mind. It is nearly March, and we would all really appreciate it if you start and keep the spring weather. Please, for the sake of all of our minds, do not let it be 60 degrees one day and be 25 and snowing the next. Another thing, the temperature. Why do you make us do crazy things? 50 degrees outside? Let’s wear shorts and have a picnic while other states are all bundled up in coats. 20 degrees you say, oh great state, then let’s wear a light jacket. Then back up to 60? Well let’s go get a tan on the beach of Lake Erie. When you let us have two feet of snow, people go shovel in shorts. When the groundhog predicts when spring is coming do you know what we are all thinking, “Well that’s a nice prediction, Punxsutawney Phil, but I live in Ohio and your prediction does not apply to me.” All we want is some normal weather. There are some weeks where we feel like we are living in Alaska one day, and the next day we are living somewhere down south.
Ohio, you are unique; the weather is one of the most unique qualities about you. But let’s be honest: it’s getting old and annoying really quick. Your weather patterns are becoming jokes and memes. We get made fun of by the meteorologists and other states. We even make fun of ourselves. Yes, in Ohio we grill burgers when it is 20 degrees outside--want a cookout in the snow? All we want is to be normal. Is that too much to ask? Experiencing all four seasons in a week once a year will be fine, just to change things up a little, but not all the time. Give us a surprise and be a normal weathered state, and please bring spring here quickly.
