An Open Letter To My Future Husband

Dear future husband,

As I am writing this, we haven't met yet. I have no idea who you are, or who you could be. Maybe I've already met you; maybe not. But someday, somehow, we will meet, and our lives together will begin. It doesn't have to be romantic at first; who knows, maybe we get off on the wrong foot and have to learn to like each other, let alone love each other. But, one thing will lead to another, and then the future dishes out what it has in store for us, whatever that may be.

I want to thank you for being there for me. I know I'm a difficult person at times, to say the least. I have my moments where I'm completely relaxed and chill about things, and then I have my moments where the slightest thing going wrong will upset me, but hey, we all have those days. Your support means a lot to me, and it's one thing I'll never take for granted.

I want you to know that you're never going to be alone. When things get rough for you, I'll be your rock if you want me to. I'll help center you in times of turbulence, and I'll do what I can to ease any burdens that rest on your shoulders. Want a night out with the guys to clear your mind? Go have fun, just be safe. Want a night in with wine and a movie instead? Pick a title and we'll go from there.

Don't worry about telling me things. I promise not to share secrets or take any angry comment to heart. If I'm doing something that bothers you, tell me instead of fighting me on it, and I'll do the same for you. I've got your best interest at heart, and I know you have mine at heart, too.

Don't worry about finding a big, bread-winning career. I know that psychologists don't make a big amount of money, but I don't need a big amount of money to be happy. Find a career that makes you happy; happiness is all we need as a family.

I do want kids, and I hope they grow up to be like us - strong, independent, and caring. I hope that our kids will live happy lives, and that we'll all be happy together as a family.

If, for some reason, we have to end our marriage, I don't want us to end with bad blood between us - I want to mutually reach this decision, and agree to end on friendly terms. but I sincerely hope that it never comes to that.

You're the best blessing that I will ever have. Thank you for being in my life.

I can't wait to meet you.

With love,

Your future wife

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
