Does Donald Trump Really Support Veterans

Donald Trump receiving a Purple Heart and saying "I always wanted to get the Purple Heart. This was much easier" when a man handed him the medal is like a slap in the face of veterans who were wounded and received the medal, like my late grandfather who fought in World War II.

He says that he has made many sacrifices, but let me tell Mr. Trump the story of real sacrifice and bravery:

Major James I Reid was the captain of an artillery battery during WW II. He led his battery through North Africa, Italy, France, and in the final years of the war Germany. While in Ulm Germany he went with a junior officer and an interpreter to find out of a city was void of life so that they could invade/shell it without hurting civilians with a machine gun on his lap in the jeep. They found no one there. The town was supposed to be secured, but they saw a German half-track (armored protection vehicle). The driver of the jeep swerved and James rolled onto the ground and spotted three men and told them to put their hands up, as he had a gun and they didn’t. After that nine more men came with their hands up and the interpreter got into the half-track and went through a German occupied town. As they are nearing American lines they are spotted by the battery and the camo nets came off of the American’s artillery in preparation to shoot, but the interpreter and James were able to signal them not to. Later, a two star sergeant under James, the same man who put him in for a Silver Star came to St. Louis in 1978 and asked James if he had gotten his Star, but he hadn’t because paperwork had gotten lost, so that year he received his Silver Star in the presence of his daughter (my mother) and his son (my uncle).

That, Mr. Trump, is how my grandfather, a veteran, received a Silver Star. But it doesn't end there. he also received a Purple Heart, the one that was just handed to you because he was wounded in South Africa, also during WWII.

So yes, keep telling us that you support veterans because I'm quite sure you evaded the Vietnam draft. It is shameful and disrespectful.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
