Dear The Best Hallmates A Girl Could Ever Ask For,
I don't know about you, but I was really anxious about coming to William and Mary. Only one other person from my high school's graduating class was coming here, so I was worried about making friends. I had also never been this far away from home before, so needless to say, I was quite nervous on move-in day.
Although the first meeting we held as a hall, when we played ice-breakers in the lounge, was a little awkward, we quickly warmed up to each other. After orientation was over, as cliché as it sounds, I felt like I was at home.
I'd like to use this article to thank you guys for all that you've done — not only for me but for one another as well.
Thank you for never failing to make me laugh. I don't think there's one time where I've talked to you all and haven't laughed. From taking the Rice Purity test a bazillion times to sending Snapchats with the weirdest filters to simply talking about our days over dinner, there's always something funny that comes up, and I will forever enjoy sharing a nice laugh with you all.
Thank you for all of the late night movie and TV nights. Staying up until 2am watching "21 Jump Street" and "Greek" has been so much fun, and I can't wait for more future movie and TV show nights!
Thank you for understanding my obsession with grilled cheese. Whenever I tell people about my obsession with grilled cheese, I get so many weird looks, but you all have accepted me and my grilled cheese obsession into your friend group and I wouldn't want it any other way.
Thank you for being understanding of my lack of directional skills. As you all know fairly well, I have the worst directional skills; I get lost so easily. Even if I've been to a place before, the next time I go, I'll still need to ask for directions. Thank you for constantly showing me where places are, even if you've showed me ten times before. Also, thank you for not laughing at me when I text you telling you I'm lost, even if it's a common spot on campus.
Thank you for all of the advice you've given me. From advice on classes to take to advice on boys; even small things like advice on filters for photos, you all have given me some of the best help I've ever received before and I'm so thankful I have people who I can openly talk to about everything.
Thank you for always being there for me. Whether it's stress from homework, homesickness, or even just the daily struggles of life, you guys have always offered a helping hand to me. I don't know how you all deal with my emotional breakdowns and freakouts about exams, but somehow, you do, and I'll forever be grateful.
Even though we've only been here for a little more than two months, I can already tell that we're going to be the best of friends in the future. You are all so thoughtful, caring and awesome; I wouldn't want to experience college with anyone else.
I love you all.
