To my future bridesmaids,
Between the many stressors of college, I don't express how thankful I am for every single one of you as much as I should.
Thank you for making the college adjustment a lot easier. Moving hours away from home is scary, but knowing I had you guys to eat with in the dinning hall every night during freshman year was definitely a good feeling. Slowly, the knots in my stomach untied and the homesickness faded as you all turned from strangers to sisters. The one major lesson I learned freshman year was that change isn't scary as long as you have the right group of girls at your side. Shout out to the core five for making my freshman year better than I ever expected.
Thank you for showing me what real friends are. In high school, my friends and I were a bunch of catty girls who were always in competition with one another. Coming to college and realizing friends are supposed to be supportive of each other's accomplishments was a pleasant surprise. After changing my major six times in two semesters, I expected an eye roll and a snicker after telling you all my newest life endeavor. I must say, I was pretty shocked when I got yet another round of completely genuine congratulatory hugs. I never thought I would have a group of friends that would bake me a pie (thanks Mish) when I succeeded in something or gave me a motivational speech when I was convinced I was going to fail my economics test. You all helped me grow as a person and a friend, and I am forever grateful for that.
Thank you for being my substitute Mom and Dad. Whether it is making me pancakes because I am too lazy to cook anything or reminding me not to go out because I have a test the next day, I can always count on you guys. Thank you for talking me out of every horrible idea I have had (and I have had a lot of those) and thank you for those times you participated in my horrible ideas. Because of you guys, I know I will never be left at a bar, go hungry, or make an irrational decision [alone].
Thank you for dancing with me until our feet are numb. Thank you for spending Friday nights/Saturday mornings dancing in ridiculously high heels until the bar closes. Thank you for not yelling at me for complaining about all the bruises my shoes gave me the next day. Thank you for blasting music on a weeknight so we can all burst into a huge dance party. Thank you for not judging my crazy dance moves or my horrible singing voice.
My college experience has been more than exceptional because I have an amazing group of friends by my side. May our memories by endless and our laughter abiding.
Love you lots,
Your Very Thankful College Friend
