Dear Family,
First off, thank you for teaching him how to treat a woman. There is no better feeling than knowing he will always respect me. That is just one of the values that you've instilled in him that I admire so much.
From the first time that I met all of you, I knew that it was a match made in heaven -- not just for me and him though, but for me and all of you. I have never felt more welcomed and loved by people who were practically still strangers. Even a year later, I still feel that same warmth and excitement from you every time I come around.
Also, not only do you all make sure I never leave on an empty stomach, the food is so good that I usually leave with an extra stomach just from the antipasto. There is another value that you have made important: food. I am completely useless in the kitchen, so I am forever grateful that he knows exactly what to make.
I have searched for a very long time to find a group of people that I know I belong to. It has been a game of trial and error because I always had to try and fit in. I did not have this problem with your family. It did not matter how different my views and opinions are -- you all accepted me for the mess that I am.
I do not know what it is like to have a huge family that is close, so that is why I am so thankful that I have the opportunity to be a part of yours even if it is only for a few days at a time. It is nice knowing that I have such a great home away from home.
Every time I come around you all, I see why he is the amazing person that he is today. I am reminded that he is not just my boyfriend, he is someone's son, nephew, grandson, cousin, and brother. He fills each of those roles in such a special way, and it gives me so much joy to witness.
Thank you for letting me love him.
