If there were a way to ignore you I would, but it seems to me that once the end of July nears, you come back into my life completely unwelcome.
Whether you came from Walmart, OfficeMax, Staples, I don’t care. Just please leave. We have a month—a whole month—left until I have to worry about you.
You may be enticing… At just 1¢ for Composition notebooks or all of Target’s affordable dorm section, you know the way to any poor college student’s heart, but I still have my mind on something a bit different when it comes to thinking about back-to-school season.
And I’m still trying to get a few beach days in and pick up extra shifts to earn money for going back-to-school. I want to hang out with my hometown friends as much as possible before you remind me of the upcoming semesters.
Bottom line: You’re too early and I’m not ready for this commitment yet. Give me some space and I might come around in about three weeks.
Respectfully go away,
A very perturbed student desperately trying to make the most out of the rest of her summer
