I write this letter to the ones who've been there for me and are still here for me. Many can relate to the love you have for a friend and how you want to express that to each and every one of them. Friends play a huge part in our lives, and sometimes we don't take the time to tell them how much we appreciate them. It may show through actions such as support, comfort, hanging out, talking, and more, but sometimes saying it out loud means just as much. This letter I write is for every person that knows me, have met me, and have built some kind of relationship with me.
To those I call my friend:
First of all, I just want to say I love you to the moon and back and am so thankful and blessed to have you in my life. A friend to me is someone who has touched my heart and has impacted me in some way to become a better person. Time does not define a friendship nor does the amount of times I see you. You, being you, has helped me to rediscover myself and others while still building our own relationship with everlasting smiles, uncontrollable laughter, and infinite support. I thank you for all you do.
Every so often (like every day), you will tell me how much you either miss me or want to spend time with me. Honestly, it chips a piece of my heart away every time I hear it because I want that as well. My life has always been busy and structured because of my studies, work, and involvements I either participate in and/or leading, and it really does affect my time with you all. On average, during school, my day would start out with an 8AM or 9AM class. Then, I go back to back with either work or more class until 4:30PM, leaving an hour for lunch (and if I'm lucky, an hour of homework and organization work time). After my classes are done, I usually have meetings and dance rehearsals until 9 or 10PM. Then, I can finally do my homework, sleep at the earliest of 1AM, and repeat my day. High key, I love being busy and having things to do, but I also love bumming around and not having any worries.
You, my friend, have been so understanding of me and my commitments. You never take things personally when I can't hang out because I'm busy or tired or if I'm with another friend because you recognize my personality of having a variety of well-rounded friends. You know that if I make time for you, it means you mean a lot to me because it's hard for me to find time these days. I want you to know how much you mean to me even though I can’t give you as much time as I would want.
1. You are my inspiration.
I do what I do because you have inspired and supported me throughout parts of my life.
2. You’re so full of love and smiles whenever I see you.
We are all human beings and have emotions. I understand when you’re upset and I want to be the one to support you just like you do for me. Even though you can’t be smiling every second, every minute of the day, you still find a way to be present in my life and comfort me even though I should be doing that for you.
3. You are a goofball and I love it!
I love how I can be comfortable around you and be myself. We’re all savages, and yet I laugh every time you make fun of me because we never take things intentionally and personally.
4. You keep up with my roller coaster life of physical exhaustion and emotional and mental distress
Bless your soul.
5. Thank you
For watching movies with me, eating food, dancing, dealing with my crazy extroverted self, having deep talks and random talks, and for taking naps with me, even when we're supposed to be hanging out.
I love you. I love you. And I love you. I never want you to forget that or feel like you don't mean anything to me. You mean more to me than myself and I don't know what I would be doing without you. Thank you for being my friend.
