I'll Probably Have MAJOR Trust Issues And 8 Other Thoughts On Why Online Dating May Not Be For Me

Because I'm sure I have doubts almost everyone has when it comes to meeting people online.

Online dating has been the new normal in 2018. There's not one person I know who has not tried using an online dating service. Tinder, Match.com, even Christian Mingle--all very popular dating sites.

However, I always get second thoughts when it comes to opening up someone. After all, do we really know who we're talking to? Here are some of the common concerns I have when it comes to online dating. And I am sure after reading this, you may think twice about making an account.

1. Catfishing is so deceiving.

I came across someone with a photo of Idris Elba named Tony. Maybe I'm crazy and he secretly has a twin brother.... And no I don't care what your situation is, I don't feel bad for those who pretend to be something they're not. You're a joke.

2. It's basically a home for perverts who are only trying to learn about your body parts rather than your personality.

Yes, creepy men who are 40 and over that refer to you as "sweet cheeks" just so they can smash. Please leave me alone before I tell Ms. Lorraine what you've been doing on Tinder, sir.

3. Easy access for undercover serial killers and predators who can't be within 50 feet of a playground.

I mean, do you hear those stories? And yeah, I know, it can happen in any situation, but online is way more common. If you meet someone in public, you're more likely to see the vibes they bring on your date.

4....Which causes you to develop MAJOR trust issues

Like the previous points, I don't want to end up talking to a 60-year-old psychotic catfish serial killer. Why can't I meet someone normal?

5. Are people actually serious about relationships in 2018?

I'm not looking for a husband, but I'm not trying to just have sex and go. I would like someone that I can establish something and grow with.

6. They may seem friendly and energetic online, but in real life they're awkward and make you uncomfortable.

Where did all of that energy go sir? Who is this?

7. Maybe you're terrible at keeping a conversation through text?

Especially if the conversation is dry. If you're one of those people who like to write words such as "lmao" or "lol," I don't think this is going to work out bud.

8. It's better to meet someone in person and get a REAL impression of them.

So I can see what they're really about, obviously! I can tell right away if someone is giving off weird vibes or not based on their presence. Yes, eventually the people who speak online will meet, but it would be really disappointing if the person you fell in love with online is socially awkward, strange, and doesn't look exactly who they look like in their profile picture...yeah, tough.

9. It's kind of hard to be yourself when you're presenting yourself online.

Let me explain that. For example, wearing makeup or wearing a nice dress in your profile picture in order to look presentable when you really wear sweatpants. I'm not in the mood to pretend to be someone who I am not, and you shouldn't either.

Epic Creation Myths: Norse Origins Unveiled

What happened in the beginning, and how the heavens were set in motion.

The Norse Creation Myth

Now, I have the everlasting joy of explaining the Norse creation myth. To be honest, it can be a bit kooky, so talking about it is always fun. The entire cosmos is included in this creation myth, not just the earth but the sun and the moon as well. This will be a short retelling, a summary of the creation myth, somewhat like I did with Hermod's ride to Hel.
